Horizon 2026 – our strategy

Release date: 22 Oct 2024

At its Investor Day on 7 November 2023, Deutsche Börse presented its “Horizon 2026” strategy. We are right on track with the implementation.

Horizon 2026

Its core elements are:

  • continued strong organic growth of seven per cent per year until 2026
  • the completed acquisition of SimCorp, contributing a further three per cent per year to growth
  • the new Investment Management Solutions segment as a strategic cornerstone with high growth potential and recurring revenues
  • an expansion of the leading position in the area of digital platforms for existing and new asset classes
  • a refined capital management with more active use of share buy-backs, beginning in the first quarter 2024 with a volume of €300 million

Horizon 2026 in a nutshell

Organic growth

With continuous trust in our business model and a priorisation of sustainable capital allocation, we continue our focus on strong organic net revenue growth.

Based on structural industry trends, the ever growing importance of the buy-side, evolving customer needs and a normalising interest rate environment, organic growth will continue to be the cornerstone of the strategy in the future.

Investment Management Solutions

In re-shaping the former Data & Analytics segment, Deutsche Börse will strengthen its focus on data and analytics-powered investment management solutions.

The segment combines the existing subsidiaries Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) and STOXX as well as Axioma with the newly added software and SaaS business of SimCorp.

The aim is to offer institutional investors products and services along their entire value chain.

Digital assets

The long-term growth potential from new technologies is based on the digitalisation of asset classes and the corresponding trading and settlement platforms. It will focus on:

  • the further expansion of cloud usage
  • the accelerated development of Clearstream's D7 digital post-trading platform
  • the creation of a trading platform for digital asset classes to significantly expand the range of both, investable and tradable instruments.
